I feel like this would have been his closing if he could speak his mind. I can’t imagine the dude isn’t completely frustrated by the process of politics, as I assume all Presidents would be after 8 years of dealing with real and contrived controversies.

Well... All presidents with an once of logic and a soul would be... Pretty sure someone like Trump or Cruz would be just fine after 8 years :)

GWB mostly had a Republican Congress. So did Reagan, I think. Bill Clinton was half and half, due to Gingrich’s Contract with America.
Obama has had a pretty much non-stop obstructionist GOP majority House, and even when the Dems had the Senate, it was by such a small measure that the need for 60 votes to invoke cloture meant it might as well have been GOP-led, and it soon became that way anyway.
So Obama has more reason to tell Congress to fuck off than other presidents.
Incidentally, you know what they say, what’s the opposite of PROgress? It’s CONgress!

So he should tell the people to fuck off for voting in a GOP Congress to oppose him?

Yes, because it’s counterproductive

This is what pisses me off the most. The GOPpers would have been nearly as difficult had there been a white Democrat president for the lat 8 years, purely as a matter of principle. But we all know that they would not have been so belligerant and hostile.
Obama is a visible reminder that angry, white, hetero, ‘Christian’ males are no longer the de facto ruling majority. And the ones in power or who want more are absolutely furious they are being left out. They absolutely cannot deal with the changing demographics of our country.

Left or right Dem or Rep red or blue. They all suck. Bunch of self serving elitist pricks. Oops sorry too early for me and politics.

Actually at the start Obama has both the house and the senate, still got little done. It’s a factor of politics, not partisanship. The beauty of the system is that it
does
take a lot of work to push through major initiatives. That means we aren’t fighting the whims of dictators.

I agree. And quite frankly it’s why i can laugh at something like this gif.

The gif is downright glorious.

This GIF is glorious. Obama should have every right to do this before he leaves office. Only issue is... none and I mean NONE of the candidates are good.

I would like for him to of stood there and said.
“you know I tried my hardest for this country and you a-holes blocked everything purely for the sake of blocking it and them giving ridiculous and asinine reasons for it, so I stand here and say with all my heart, fuck you all”.

If only people who were elected actually represented the people of the areas from which they were elected. We have the same problem up here in Canada, because we vote for parties rather than people.

If he didn’t like politics, he may have chosen the wrong profession.

We have district representation except, due to a little thing called “gerrymandering,” it pretty much produces districts that have no connection to real demographics.

Haha. True.

I take it you weren’t in the States between 2007 and 2011.

Nobody likes politics. They start in politics with such hope and only continue on to spite those that they once wanted to work with.

...That’s actually true, yes.
![]() 01/16/2016 at 11:54 |

No they start in politics for the power and the sweet airplanes.

At least he was smart enough to run for President. If he ran for Mayor of Chicago or Governor of Illinois, he’d eventually end up in prison.

That four year period was basically the photo negative of what you discribed. Otherwise everything you said was true.

That's why I want to get in on it. I'll pretend I give a shit about people.

True story, Rob Blagojevich bought me a Honker Ale at Twin Anchors in June 2003.

That, and the whole ability to basically buy a politician. Instead of voting with your ballot, you have to vote with your wallet. :(
